Craftsmanship

A Rhythmic Craft

Much like a parade of real elephants, there is a rhythm to the process of handcrafting our Chocolate Elephants. The ballet precision of the pipers, dexterously handling bags of freshly whipped ganache — down goes the tip to the board, a flick of the wrist and there are the elephant bodies, one by one, then a dab and a flourish, the heads. On go the upturned trunks with steady, artful precision.

Gloved hands are working in tandem, positioning the toasted almond ears and choosing and placing the tusks.

The tap-tap motion of the dipping forks as the beasts are hand-dipped in dark and milk chocolates. The careful strokes to coat the tusks in white chocolate are followed by the rhythmic touch of a tiny chocolate-filled piping cone to thoughtfully place their eyes.

A moment of rest in our cold room to ensure a perfect shine, and the elephants march off to the packing room to be gently encapsuled in pleated paper, nestled, and boxed.

Made entirely by hand over three days, our Dark Chocolate Elephants are a unique work of art in chocolate. Each Elephant is hand-piped with dark chocolate ganache blended with passion fruits and a hint of Amarula cream liqueur and hand-dipped in dark chocolate. 100% of net proceeds will be donated to Space for Giants, our philanthropic partner based in Kenya dedicated to protecting Africa’s wildlife and habitats.
