Our seasonal items are available in limited quantities during certain times of year. Outside of a seasonal collection's shipping window, customers can pre-order items and select their desired ship date from the product’s pre-determined ship window. These ship date options will be presented to the customer during checkout.
Our shipping fees are determined by our carrier, UPS. They are based on the selected shipping method, along with the weight, volume, and destination of your order. Due to the perishable nature of our products, we ship exclusively via overnight or two-day shipping to ensure they arrive fresh and in optimal condition. These rates come directly from UPS without any markup; we do not profit from shipping fees.
Available items ordered by 2 pm EST Monday through Wednesday and 1 pm EST on Thursday and Friday can be shipped the same day. Items ordered on Saturday and Sunday will ship on Monday.
Ship dates also vary by your selected shipping method. UPS Ground shipping is available only certain days of week and for certain states. Please note that if selecting UPS Ground shipping on a Thursday or Friday, your order will likely deliver Monday or Tuesday as UPS Ground does not deliver on Saturdays or Sundays.
We also offer seasonal products on pre-order, and during checkout you will only see ship dates available on when that product’s ship window opens.

After selecting the product you want to customize for your event or corporate order, you'll be taken through a customizer tool that shows all options available.
We require a two-week lead time for customized products. You will see this reflected in your checkout, as the first available ship date will be two weeks from your order date.
For event-related orders, we recommend selecting a ship date that allows for delivery at least two business days prior to your event. This buffer accommodates any unforeseen shipping delays and ensures your products arrive with ample time for preparation.

Yes, we can process multi-ship orders, but these orders must be handled through our Customer Care team. Digital gift cards from L.A. Burdick are emailed to recipients and can be redeemed for online orders only. Physical gift cards are mailed to recipients, and can be used in our cafés only.

At L.A. Burdick, we have remained dedicated to using only natural ingredients since our first days 38 years ago - never using artificial colors like Red 3 or Red 40, or any artificial additives in our creations. We also avoid using palm oil, and instead opt for less processed options.
Yes, we take great pride in working closely with our vendors to not only ensure that cocoa beans are ethically sourced, but also that the farms they work with treat their employees fairly and are paid a livable wage. We find that this results in better higher-quality products and therefore is a priority for us.
All chocolate products and confections should be stored at room temperature in a room that doesn’t get warmer than about 75°F. If there is no climate control available and temperature would exceed 75°F, then it is best to place chocolate products and confections in a closed small airtight bag and refrigerate them. When ready to enjoy, allow them to return to room temperature before removing them from the bag. This is necessary to avoid unwanted condensation build up on the chocolates and confections.
For pastries, it is a bit more dependent on the product itself. Please follow the instructions included for each of our pastries.
As our products contain no artificial additives or preservatives, we recommend consuming them promptly to ensure optimal freshness and quality. Please refer to the below guidelines for recommended consumption timelines. While our products are at peak freshness and flavor within these timeframes, they remain safe to enjoy beyond these dates when properly stored.
