The Final Hand in the Mouse’s Journey

Our Chocolate Mouse’s journey does not end with the chocolatiers. While the artistry of making our signature Mice is often described, lesser known is the exceptional skill and attention to detail of our Packing team.

Once crafted, all of our chocolates are received into Packing. There they are carefully nestled into pleated paper capsules for presentation and protection, a step known as "footing." Our Footers are vigilant controllers of visual perfection. A slightly misshapen ear, a nose too high, or a tiny variation in the chocolate enrobing will not escape their expert eyes.

Next come the Mouse Packers, a charming name for a vital position. Each delicate Mouse must be handled with the lightest touch and only for the briefest moment, as the warmth of one’s hands could soften their chocolate’s finish. One by one, the Mice are selected and deftly placed in their boxes, upturned faces forward, with silken tails tucked in. Special attention is given to their fragile noses. After a final check, the box is beribboned and further prepared by our Shipping team for safe travel to our shops or the homes of their delighted recipients.
