Covid-19 Shipping Update
Shipping may be delayed due to high order volume, safety precautions, and increased transit time with UPS. We ask for your patience and thank you for your understanding.
We understand your concerns about the cost of shipping today. Our first priority is our commitment to our customers.
Our luxury, preservative-free product is handcrafted and shipped fresh daily. Our commitment to our customers' receiving fresh chocolate means that we do not have the option to warehouse product for 5-7 days. We ship using only overnight or two-day methods, with ice packs depending on destination and weather concerns.
Selecting a Shipping Date and Method
We use overnight or two-day methods due to the perishable nature of our product.
During the checkout procedure, you will be asked when you want your order to ship (or leave our facility). Based on the date you select, you’ll see all relevant shipping options with the expected transit time for each choice. If you want to change it, simply click on the calendar to select another ship date. NOTE: Selecting a Friday for a ship date will only provide a Saturday delivery date. A Saturday surcharge will be applied.
We urge you to select an overnight shipping method if the temperature at your destination city is above 70 degrees F. We are unable to provide a refund for a melted product if you choose a non-overnight shipping method for a destination city where the temperature is above 70 degress F.
How and When We Ship
Same day shipping is available for orders received by 2pm EST. We do not ship over the weekend due to the perishable nature of our product.
Please note that the estimated arrival date is an estimate only. Delays may occur.
We recommend you allow extra days in transit when selecting a date to ship your packages, as UPS continues to experience delays due to high volume. We regret that we cannot offer refunds for weather-related delays, flight delays, mechanical issues, or other issues that UPS experiences. For UPS alerts please visit ups.com.
Warm Temperature Conditions
We are committed to delivering fresh chocolate in good condition, and include ice packs (without charge) when shipping to warm climates.
What you can do:
We urge you to select an overnight delivery option if the temperature at your destination city is more than 70°F. Please make every effort to notify the recipient that a package will be arriving. We cannot be responsible for items left unattended or not sent overnight in warm weather.

Saturday delivery is available to most locations in the US. If not available for the destination address provided, we will notify you the day your order is placed. There is an additional Saturday delivery surcharge of $15.00 for this service.
Please note that when shipping to a physical address, an accurate street address, suite/apartment number, company name (if applicable), and phone number is required to ensure proper delivery.

Busy Holiday Seasons
Thanksgiving, Christmas/Hanukkah, Valentine's Day, Mothers Day and Easter are chocolate's busiest seasons. Please allow more time by selecting earlier ship dates. (Allowing plenty of time gives you more delivery options, too - ship earlier to save overnight delivery fees!)
Shipping via United States Postal Service (USPS)
(Including Alaska and Hawaii) We do not ship via USPS. We do not ship to P.O. Boxes.
Please call customer service at 800.229.2419 to assist with military shipments.
Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii
We ship via UPS Next Day Air (UPS Priority) only to these destinations due to the perishable nature of the product. Because of the distance involved, please allow 2 days or more for actual delivery.
We ship via UPS Worldwide for destinations outside of the United States. Packages should arrive within 2-5 business days provided there are no delays in customs.
We ship to the following countries:

International packages are not guaranteed. When placing an order, please carefully check the recipient's address as it is difficult to correct an address once the package leaves the country. We are not always notified of undeliverable packages, and due to the expense we cannot reship due to customer error. We can provide price estimates for frequently shipped-to countries. No Signature Required
L.A. Burdick Chocolates does not require a signature for most residential deliveries; however, custom favor orders do require a signature for delivery.
UPS delivery service reserves the right to deny a delivery should there be an instance where they do not feel the location is secure and will reattempt delivery on the next business day. We are not responsible if the package is lost or stolen.
Once your order is shipped we will send you an email with tracking details. You will then be able to track your package by going to the carrier's website.
