L.A. Burdick Chocolates is now interviewing for a Baker to join our team. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to join a motivated and professional café team; work in a beautifully appointed chocolate retail and European-style café environment; craft and serve hot and chilled beverages of renown, and serve delectable pastries and cakes.

Previous experience of working within a café, coffee shop, or similar service environment is preferred. Additionally we are looking for the skills and traits:

Skills and Traits:

  • Cake slicing to a standardized portion size
  • Shaping, proofing, and baking croissants
  • Preparation and baking of fruit and berry tarts (raspberry, apple, and various seasonal offerings)
  • Baking in general
  • Internal ordering and kitchen related inventory
  • An appreciation for aesthetics, symmetry and standardization
  • Diligence — care and attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic
  • Organized and tidy
  • Reliable and responsible
  • Experience of applying ServSafe standards of food storage and handling and/or certification
  • Comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy

Part time approximately 24 hours per week. Shift starts at 6:00 AM
