FINANCE/HR MANAGER

L.A. Burdick Chocolates is looking for an experienced Finance and HR Manager to join their team. This is an immediate start opportunity for a full-time position at our company.
 

Responsible for conducting high level business and financial analysis that will assist management in making critical business decisions. Hands on capability to implement short- and long-term strategic initiatives as well as perform day to day tasks in both Finance and Human Resources. Supervise staff ensuring timely and accurately processing of all expenses, journal entries, monthly close, and payroll.
 

Candidate will also be skilled in managing compensation, benefits, recognition, recruiting, training, performance management and employee relations in a manner that retains staff members long-term and builds our brand. This candidate is tasked with ensuring that our company culture welcomes a diverse population and supports each person in achieving career goals within the organization.
 

Job Duties:

  • Manage monthly close process and implement process to reduce closing time.
  • Prepare and present monthly financial package.
  • Complete all sales, expense, and variance analysis.
  • Prepare and present financial statements to management including P&L and balance sheet.
  • Oversee the operations of the Finance and HR department, setting goals and objectives for staff.
  • Work with C.P.A. firm to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained.
  • Oversee journal entry preparation as well as account reconciliations.
  • Inventory, A/P, A/R and Payroll transactions.
  • Compile key business metrics and report on them to management on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare return on investments (ROI) for all major capital investments.
  • Lead annual budgeting and capital planning process.
  • Develop and implement process for product costing.
  • Create policy and procedures for the accounting and HR departments.
  • Ability to recruit and retain skilled employees.
  • Oversee HR responsibilities including recruiting, payroll, insurance, and employee relations.
  • Develops training and performance management program that ensures all employees are knowledgeable about their job responsibilities, as well as relevant legal and safety requirements.
  • Ensures all employment practices comply with federal, state and local regulations.

Requirement:

  • Bachelor's in Finance/Accounting; or at least 5-10 years of equivalent experience in a Retail and Manufacturing environment including Accounting and Human Resources.
  • MBA and/or CPA preferred.
  • A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.
  • Proficient user of Finance software and HR software systems.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and follow-through skills.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Expert user of Excel, Power Point and Word.
