CAFÉ SUPERVISOR

L.A. Burdick Chocolates is looking for a full time enthusiastic and motivated Keyholder/Supervisor for our New York City Café located between W. Broadway and Thompson St. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join a motivated and professional retail team; work in a beautifully appointed, chocolate retail and European-style café environment.

This supervisory position is responsible for maintaining high store standards and conditions, and fostering a positive environment, which provides efficient and friendly service, ensuring a quality experience for both our customers and team members. Duties:

  • Management-light (directing) other members of the team that are working on that shift (i.e. activities and flow).
  • Handle customer issues as a designate of managers (when one is not available) or capturing the customer’s details so as this can be addressed by the next scheduled manager
  • Handling staff no-shows and seeking last minute coverage
  • Facilitates on-going training and development or current staff
  • Meets operational standards by implementing production, productivity, quality and customer service standards; resolving problems; identifying system improvements
  • Meet financial standards by balancing cash outs; daily bank deposits and identifying variances
  • Assume the tasks of the various stations within the store (register, bar, expediting, chocolates).
  • Key holder, including opening and closing as well as weekend shifts

Qualifications:

  • Highly responsible, hard-working and committed
  • Management Proficiency
  • Barista experience highly preferred
  • Professional and polished personal presentation
  • Basic Microsoft Excel and Outlook use
  • ServSafe Certification preferred but not necessary
  • Experience with front of house and back of house POS systems and functions
  • Clear and concise communicator - comfortable with offering direction to teammates
  • Capable of lifting and carrying loads of 40 lbs.
  • Bachelor's degree highly preferred and/or 2-5 years of management experience required
