Nestled in the bountiful Connecticut River Valley, the Walpole Grocery is a small specialty store actively striving to support the local economy by working hand-in-hand with area farmers and other artisan producers to make good, clean food accessible. The store features a diverse selection of locally sourced artisanal cheeses, meats and bakery items, as well as a constantly changing seasonal array of organic fruits and vegetables.
At the butcher counter, house-made charcuterie is de rigueur, along with freshly made sausages and cutting done to order. Seafood is sourced as close to home as possible, with an emphasis on wild catches and sustainable practices. Elsewhere, the grocery’s flair for the international is apparent in its variety of European cheeses, broad range of ethnic ingredients, and growing collection of hand-selected wines and craft beers.
Our staff is friendly, knowledgeable and approachable, with a commitment to providing outstanding customer service. We look forward to assisting you in procuring exceptional food that has been carefully and conscientiously produced.

WINE & BEER: It’s a perfect time to begin thinking of switching from summer’s crisp white wines to rosés and bigger-bodied reds. We carry a unique selection of wines, so stop in and take home a bottle of something new! Our beer choices continue to evolve seasonally as well, with microbrews from local producers and larger breweries alike.
BUTCHER COUNTER: It’s time to think about putting away the grill and firing up the oven! We have a variety of locally raised cuts of beef perfect for stewing and braising. Our house-made sausages are delicious and perfect for adding to a cassoulet or pot of Nonna’s beloved Sunday gravy, and the pork chops are hand-cut. We have meatballs that will melt in your mouth, and daily selections of pre-marinated meats will take the guesswork out of dinner. Don’t forget to call if you’re looking for something special!
PREPARED FOODS: Our sandwich selections change daily, with a variety of grab-and-go options perfect for a quick lunch or impromptu meal with friends. For something a bit more substantial try a panini or melt; you won’t be disappointed by our two daily choices! If sandwiches are not your forte, try a cup of soup or one of our many delicious varieties of fresh salads and sides perfect for a quick nosh or rounding out dinner. Let us help you take the stress and hurry out of your work week!

There's no mistaking that we're on the cusp of autumn in New England. Soon there will be an abundance of winter squashes in the produce bins, the cold will sweeten the carrots and kale, and the winter supply of potatoes and onions will be stored carefully away. As we march into colder days, the desire for heartening food accompanies us, resulting in leisurely meals spent over savory stews, comforting casseroles and traditional roasts. The season’s sweet apples will meld with butter and spices in delectable desserts and mugs of hot mulled cider. Fall always brings with it a sense of anticipation, but also the coziness of tradition and warmth. We look forward to sharing the bounty of this beautiful season with you!
