January is a month of special celebration here at Burdick Chocolate. In honor of the poet Robert Burns, we are pleased to offer a limited reserve truffle made with the fine 16-year old single malt whiskey, Lagavulin, from Islay Scotland. Lagavulin is noted for its smokey and peaty flavor and its velvety complex finish. It comes from one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland, and we think of it as the "poet’s scotch". Our truffles are packaged in a 1/2-lb box and sent to you with a bag of rich shortbread cookies – the classic bite to accompany the long smokey afterglow of the chocolate. On Thursday, January 24th, the eve of this great poet's birthday, The Restaurant at Burdick Chocolate is pleased to host a Special Poetry Dinner commemorating the 249th birthday of the Poet. We will feature traditional Scottish fare including Tweed Kettle, and Haggis. Each course will be paired with a fine single malt whiskey. Click here to view a full menu.
