A LITTLE ABOUT OUR PEOPLE...

Larry Burdick
Larry grew up in Boston, spent the late 70s in France and the mid 80s in Switzerland. Larry has been cooking with chocolate and making chocolate confections since 1984 and established L.A. Burdick Chocolate in New York City in 1987. Five years later Larry moved with his family, wife Paula, and his children Jacob and Marietta to beautiful Walpole, New Hampshire. With a thriving Chocolate business, a fine French restaurant, a gourmet food store in the works, and a commute that consists of a short bicycle ride, Larry has within arm's reach all the qualities of life that he holds dear.

Michael Klug
Michael is the Chocolate & Pastry Chef at L.A. Burdick Chocolate. Michael is a native of Montabaur, Germany, a town between Frankfurt and Cologne. Joining the food business in 1986, he gained his experience as a Pastry Chef at Lespinasse, Chantrelle and The Mark, all in New York City. He joined L.A. Burdick in October 2002 where his focus continues on the flavors, textures and complexity of the confections he devises. On Michael's shoulders rests the duty of maintaining the integrity and freshness of Burdick Chocolates. When not head over heels in chocolate Michael enjoys his red Burgundy, Bordeaux and German Riesling, and loves to be with his wife, Ann-Michelle and young son, "Valentin the great".

Paula Burdick
Paula started L.A. Burdick Chocolate with Larry in 1986. If Larry fell in love with Paris, Paula's love was New York City. It was there that she attended the Fashion Institute of Technology and began her career in fashion. Her experience working with color, fabrics, yarn, and style direction can be seen now in the packaging and design of Burdicks' finished products. Living in Paris, France with Larry contributed to the ambiance of the café and chocolate shops. Aside from the chocolate business, her true love is her family Jacob, 16, Marietta, 14, Larry and her 200-year-old house on the village green in Walpole.

Cathy Watson
As our General Manager, Cathy supervises all of our operations. Business begins once the chocolate is ready. From this point on, Burdicks looks to Cathy to keep things running smoothly. She is a native of the Monadnock Region of New Hampshire. A professional in the food industry since 1978, she opened her own restaurant in 1985, selling it three years later when she married and began raising a family. In the early 1990s, with the children in school, Cathy started yet another restaurant in the village of Walpole across the street from a young couple with a fledgling chocolate shop. In May of 2001 Cathy joined L.A. Burdick Chocolates. She became General Manager of the company in March 2004. When she's not in Walpole or Cambridge she can be found with her family, husband Jeffrey and children Nick, Cori and Josh, and granddaughter, Anna.
